The First Amendment

The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution say that, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

This is the most important amendment in the constitution. This is the amendment that allows the most freedom for Americans and has allowed the people to have a voice whether it be in public speeches or in newspapers and television.

The first amendment is vital to a journalist. No other business besides Journalism in the U.S. is protected under the Constitution. Without this amendment journalist would not be able to do so many of the things they do freely.

It is a journalist responsibility to report on their government an the thing they do right and wrong. There are many countries in the world that do not allow such freedom in the press that allows journalism to flourish here.
