Mutlimedia: Why is it Important?

Multimedia is becoming a very important part of internet Journalism in todays society. Multimedia pieces are more than just a simple news story. It is usually preferred over old fashion print news. They focus on a specific event, or place, and share all the details that is known about them.

Multimedia uses multiple kinds of communication to tell a story, or share news with the person taking in the information. This includes, audio and visual effects, compiled into a video, which shares information. These videos must get a story across in the simplest and most straight forward ways.

Multimedia pieces are often followed up by articles and sometimes hyperlinks. This is so the reader, or watcher, can attain even more background information about the story or event.

Multimedia pieces must hold the watchers attention, without boring them with too many confusing facts. If multimedia pieces are compiled correctly, they can be very successful in conveying a message, or telling a story.
