Journalists are those who watch the world, and dissect the information they collect. The information they release back to the public is meant to be truthful, relevant, and easy to understand.
We count on journalists to be everywhere at once. If a journalist isn’t there at the scene, a story could be lost or jumbled when the media finally hears about it. The stories these reporters collect are distributed to the people via all media – newspapers, the internet, television, blogs, etc.
Journalists cover all stories, not just the most sensational. National, International, and local news are all extremely important and equally vary in issues from tragedies to fashion, sports to music, and politics to weather.
While citizen journalism is becoming more popular, professional journalists will always be relevant in keeping the news truthful and unbiased (to a certain extent). Journalists educate the world and without them, we would be lost.
