The Job Responsibilities of a Journalist

A journalist is an individual who reports on the news in a fair and unbiased manner.

It is the duty of a journalist to research stories, interview individuals, check their facts, and write an interesting story. A journalist should try to be unbiased in their articles, and they should also make sure to show both sides of every story that they write.

A journalist must avoid injecting his/ her personal beliefs in a story. Not only does a journalist have to write a story that is accurate, they also have to write a story that is interesting or entertaining.

If a journalist prints stories that aren’t interesting or entertaining, then they won’t gain the readers attention and the stories will go unread.

Journalists also serve as a watchdog for the general public by reporting through various forms of media on what is going on. This is a very important role for journalists, because without them citizens wouldn’t know nearly as much about what their government is doing and who the candidates are.

Journalists are very important in today’s society and they keep the public informed with factual and up to date information through different forms of media.
