Numbers hold a hugely important role in reporting the news, so it is best as a journalist that you can use them effectively to report the news clearly and accurately.

When used properly number are a readers best friend, but use them wrong and it will have the reader confused and upset.

Numbers are used for things such a statistics, and charts. Numbers can be the most important part of the story and need to be used properly.

When someone reads, "people were injured in car crash today", that doesn't give the reader any good information, rather one should write, "5 people injured in car crash today.

Numbers add to a stories credibility, and gives it a factual feel.
