Why Journalists Plagiarize and Make-Up Stories

Over the years, journalists have been plagiarizing and making up their stories. This causes some journalists to lose their jobs. If it is wrong to do these things, why do journalists still do them? Some journalists attempt to plagiarize stories, because they feel pressured to do so when they need more information. Other journalists might plagiarize because they do not want to give credit to certain sources, especially if the information comes from another reporter’s story.
Besides plagiarizing, many journalists make up their stories. Often, journalists will report on a story, but the story ends up being very dull. However, if the reporters made up more facts of their own, then the story would be better and more interesting. Journalists are also under a lot of pressure because they have to get the story right, and they’re always competing against other journalists. One of a journalist’s many goals is to have the best story, even if it means plagiarizing or making up a story. The best stories usually end up getting more attention. Unfortunately, even though plagiarism and making up stories is wrong, journalists will keep doing these things in the future, no matter what the consequences will be.
