What is Plagiarism?

Plagiarism is known as using others thoughts, ideas, or words as your own.

Not crediting someone's thoughts or ideas that you use is classified as stealing, and is therefore against the law.

It is necessary to use quotations whenever you are directly quoting something, or when you are using word for word.

Plagiarism is an illegal offense that occurs often in Journalism.

It is happening more and more because of the competitive nature of the world of Journalism.

Now that there are more sources of news available, everyone wants their articles to be the best or the most interesting in order to capture the most readers attention.

Plagiarism is most often done by mistake. People do not intentionally steal other peoples words or ideas.

When plagiarism appears on the internet, it is often difficult to tell which writer had the original thought.

Plagiarism can be resolved by not using others thoughts and ideas at all, or by simply citing the sources that you do use.
